Alla Prima Still Life Painting

This two day course will focus on creating one alla-prima (wet-on-wet) still life painting. Each artist will set up their own still life under the guidance of the tutor, giving consideration to composition, light, and variants of colour, tone and texture.

This workshop is suitable for all levels of ability. Attendees will receive multiple individual critiques throughout the two days with a focus on solid drawing as well as shape, value and edge design.

Working on still life paintings is an excellent way to develop paint handling and compositional ideas.

Materials To Bring:

Objects to paint - keep in mind this is only a two day course so simple shapes will be easier to paint than complicated items.

A medium-sized surface of your preference to paint on - canvas, panel, aluminium panel, etc. Please ensure it is already primed.
