Travis Seymour | Director Atelier Studies Programme, Workshops, Online Mentorship

Travis Seymour was born in North Carolina, USA and graduated from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington(UNCW) with degrees in both Art History and Studio Painting. He studied classical drawing and painting in Florence at the Angel Academy of Art between 2002 and 2007 before moving to New York, and finally settling in London in 2010.

Painting and teaching in both America and the UK, Seymour has received numerous awards for his artwork and exhibited in major exhibitions such as the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, The Oil Painters of America, The Ruth Borchard Self-Portrait Prize and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.

As well as a sought-after portrait and still life painter, Seymour has established himself as a respected fine art teacher in his own right. In 2016, he and fellow artist Nancy Fletcher opened the doors to their London studios to create the Barnes Atelier.

Atelier Studies Programme

Nancy Fletcher comes from Lincolnshire in the United Kingdom. Nancy entered The Edinburgh Art College to study Fine Art Photography at age 19 which successfully led to a professional career in London as a freelance photographer for a number of years.

Having previously studied art in Florence at age eighteen, Nancy returned in 2002 to focus her study on Fine Art and Classical Representational Painting which she has loved ever since. She has studied at the Charles Cecil Studios and The Angel Academy of Art in Florence as well as with Jacob Collins at the Water Street Atelier and The Grand Central Academy of Art in New York City.

She has shown her work at galleries in the USA, UK, and Hong Kong and has participated in major exhibitions such as the BP Portrait Award(2012,2015), The Royal Society of Portrait Painters, and The Portrait Society of America.

Sarah Garrett | Assistant Instructor

Sarah Garrett is a traditional realist artist living in London. She is currently an advanced student and assistant instructor at Barnes Atelier.
